VOICE LESSONS

Amanda began taking private voice lessons in the summer of 2016. She continued these lessons at Monmouth College. Here, she performs in the ensemble of Meet Me in St. Louis. KCACTF DRAMATURGY

In 2017, Amanda presented dramaturgical research at KCACTF. This research, conducted with her co-dramaturg Haley Willits, was for the world premier of Oedipus Rex by Ron Zank, a film noir style Greek tragedy. Here, Amanda stands next to her presentation. WORKSHOP WITH TIM MOONEY

In the fall semesters of 2016/17, Tim Mooney, a theatrical author and performer, visited the Monmouth College campus. He led Shakespeare workshops and performed his one man shows, Breakneck Hamlet and Breakneck Julius Caesar.

COMEDIE-FRANCAISE

While on a trip to Paris, France, Amanda visited Comedie-Francaise as a continuation of her earlier Sarah Bernhardt research.

SARAH BERNHARDT PRESENTATION

Amanda presented research at the Scholar's Day of her freshman year, as well. This project focused on Sarah Bernhardt, who quickly became one of Amanda's favorite historical theatre artists.

KCACTF DEVISED THEATRE

In 2016, Amanda attended KCACTF and participated in a Devised Theatre production. Through improv, research, and creative expression, the devised group addressed societal issues such as sexual violence against males, female nipple censorship, and Amanda's focus, rape within marriage.

CHICAGO FINE ARTS TRIP

Every year, faculty at Monmouth College take a selective set of students on a trip to Chicago to experience art, theatre, and music. Amanda was selected to attend her freshman year. The link below leads to an article about the trip.

DIRECTING INTERNSHIP WITH THE ARMOURY PLAYERS

Between her Junior and Senior years, Amanda completed a directing internship in association iwth the Armoury Players of Monmouth, Illinois. THEATRE STUDIES IN LONDON, UK

During the Spring semester of her Junior year, Amanda studied abroad in Florence, Italy and London, United Kingdom. During her two months in London, Amanda attended over a dozen plays at theatres such as the Bridge Theatre, the National Theatre, the Globe, and many more. She also visited Stratford-Upon-Avon for a weekend and attended two plays and toured Shakespeare's birthplace. Here, she is pictured standing in the garden outside the Bard's birthplace. Below is a short scene Amanda and two classmates wrote as part of an assignment for their Theatre Studies course.
